The Professor Layton series of games is all about brain teasers and puzzles, based around an emotive and compelling narrative. In order to bring this to life online, we created an immersive site experience and the ability to play the mini games on the website itself.

The intro to the site included the opening cinematic of the game and set the stage for the aesthetic of the site. We are introduced to turn of the century France, and a haunting soundtrack.

Like most games, the Professor Layton series is very character driven and defined by it’s key personalities. We used full screen images of the environments from the game as backdrops for each of the section of the website, modeling the game itself.

As the lead designer and developer on this project, I built a series of mini games to mimic the gameplay on the DS. Users could pick up the stylus and interact with both screens of the DS to solve puzzles and get hooked on the game.
