Hi, I’m Dan.

An experienced design leader who sincerely believes design can make a positive difference in people’s lives.
I am passionate about working with good people to find simple solutions to complex problems.

I am the Head of Design and User Experience at Crowdpac, a political crowdfunding and engagement platform. I plan, research, design, build, and test tools that give citizens a new way to participate in the political process. We have helped hundreds of people run for office for the first time, and helped candidates from Library Board to City Council to President raise millions of dollars and connect with their community of supporters.

Previously I was a Senior Product Designer at Modest, an early-stage mobile commerce startup in Chicago later acquired by Paypal. I was responsible for the user experience of our native iOS and Android apps, new retailer on-boarding, and store management tools.

As a freelance designer I've worked with great organizations like Change.org, Trunk Club, OpenGovFoundation, Hillary for America, Precision Strategies, Northwestern University, Planned Parenthood, and many more.

Prior to that I was fortunate enough to have the experience of a lifetime, as Lead Interactive Designer for Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. I designed social organizing platforms, fundraising tools, and data visualizations that were used by millions of people and raised millions of dollars. I was then named Design Director while the organization transitioned from a campaign into Organizing for Action.

I had countless unforgettable experiences, and got the chance to work alongside some of the most talented people I’ve ever met.

Before moving to Chicago for the campaign, I lived in Seattle where I cut my teeth at different agencies working for clients like Nintendo, Target, Microsoft, HTC, and Madison Square Garden.

Throughout my career I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside talented, generous people who are passionate about their work. I’ve seen the positive impact design can have under those circumstances.

I hope to work with mission-driven organizations that value design, and offer the chance for continued personal growth. If that sounds like you, please get in touch.
